Lydia Yun, DPM is a Podiatrist and Foot and Ankle Surgeon available for consultation in Santa Cruz and Watsonville, California. She was raised in California with an extensive dance background and was professionally trained and performed in classical ballet and pointe, jazz, tap, theatre and Korean Folk Dance. Despite her love for dance, she excelled academically and graduated as a valedictorian at the Orange County High School of the Performing Arts. She was accepted into an accelerated pre-health care professional program at the University of the Pacific where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry and studied abroad in Alicante, Spain. She then received her medical degree at the California School of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland, California.

Dr. Yun went on to complete a three year surgical residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, California. She received comprehensive training in all aspects of the foot and ankle including forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery, limb salvage, wound care, sports medicine, and traumatology. During these busy three years, she has taken courses in advanced foot and ankle internal fixation, foot and ankle arthroscopy, and fluoroscopy. Dr. Yun has won numerous abstract competitions and is currently co-authoring research in foot and ankle scientific literature. During her final year of residency, she served as chief resident at Highland Hospital and participated in a medical mission trip in Da Nang Vietnam with Dr. Weinraub of Kaiser Santa Clara.

Podiatrist, Dr. Lydia Yun is dedicated to giving her patients the best possible foot and ankle care and also developing a rapport and relationship with her patients.

When not working, she enjoys rock climbing, the great outdoors and travelling with her family. She also stays active by going to the beach and hiking with her dog, a border collie husky mix.
